Today in Ukraine, as well as the world celebrates the Day against tuberculosis. That happened on March 24, 1882 the German microbiologist Robert Koch announced the discovery of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, for which he was in 1905 awarded the Nobel prize in physiology or medicine.
According to who, Ukraine takes the second place in the world for prevalence of tuberculosis extensively drug-resistant. Given the urgency of the problem for Ukraine, medical services for the diagnosis and treatment of TB was included in the Program of medical guarantees - the list of services that the state guarantees to the patient. Medical warranties in full starting the 1st of April. NCSU enters into contracts for the provision of services for the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis with relevant agencies across the country. 9 months 2020 to the treatment of adults and children with TB in the Program of medical warranties provided 835 million 831 thousand UAH. These funds NCSU will be paid to those institutions that sign a contract for the provision of such services. For the treatment of one patient NSSO will pay the medical institution 20 663 UAH.
Head of the National health service’I Ukraine Oksana Movchan: “no patient with tuberculosis, who needs medical care, will not be without it. He will have a choice among many hospitals, because of the launch of the medical guarantees the principle of “the money goes to the patient" will not only work in the primary care setting. The patient will choose the place which want to be treated, and NCSU will pay for this treatment of the institution under the contract. The rate includes diagnosis, treatment outpatient in terms and conditions of hospital. The drugs are procured for the centralized programs of the MOH”.
Chief doctor of the Odessa regional center of socially significant diseases of the Odessa regional Council Svitlana yesipenko: “In Ukraine today there is a stabilization of the situation with the spread of tuberculosis. At the same time, there remains the problem of multidrug-resistant. Pandemic coronavirus that is superimposed on the high levels of TB transmission, can have severe consequences. This is evidenced by the experience of China, which successfully prevents epidemics COVID-19. At the same time, in this country having a problem with TB diagnosis and treatment of this disease. During a pandemic coronavirus patients with tuberculosis are at risk. They already have damage to the lung tissues. For these patients the most important thing is self - isolation at home. For us physicians, it is important to organize remote treatment under control and uninterrupted supply of patients with tuberculosis medications. It is something we are actively working. We now performatives their work to ensure that none of our patients were not disconnected from treatment for pandemic coronavirus”.
