Ukrainian analysts have developed a tool that shows in a convenient format how much pharmacies operating under the program of “Affordable drugs”, is in 7 km radius from each health facility, staffed by family physicians, pediatricians and internists.
This information will be useful to patients, because it allows you to find the nearest hospital to the pharmacy and get medicines on the program “of Available drugs" and – local government and business, because the visualization clearly shows the "white spots" in the pharmacy infrastructure.
in Particular, the tool shows the number of patients with declarations caters to a particular institution and is sufficient within a radius of 7 kilometers from the pharmacies operating under the program of “Affordable drugs”.
Analysis showed that near one of the institution may be 57 pharmacies, while the other – with the same number of patients – none.
Presented to visualize information about the saturation of pharmacy infrastructure, the amount of compensation from the state for services rendered to patients medications for each pharmacy chain and the number of patients in each institution will help the owners of pharmacy chains to understand how it is necessary to expand the business thus, to meet the demand for drugs. According to the National health service’I Ukraine, as of November 1, more than 7 700 pharmacies was joined by government programmes “Affordable drugs”, which provides that a patient who signed the Declaration with the family doctor, pediatrician or physician, can according to his prescription to the drugs fully or partially paid by the state. It – about 30–35% of the total number of pharmacies in Ukraine. With more than 1,400 primary care and more than 6 300 clinics already have contracts with NCSU and serve 28.6 million patients with records. Now 66% of the seats provision of PMP have a pharmacy within a radius of 7 kilometers, in which patients can receive medicines under the program of “Affordable drugs”.
