to facilitate the work of health professionals during the pandemic, the project USAID Ukraine USAID Ukraine «Support of health care reform’I’ developed recommendations for telephone counseling. The recommendations will help doctors to provide quality health care at the primary level.
During a pandemic, healthcare providers have moved from individual patient visits to a telephone counselling to prevent the spread of infection. This new approach requires doctors certain skills that will help you hear, support, and most importantly - to help the patient remotely. The project USAID Ukraine USAID Ukraine «Support of health care reform’I” created a new information material entitled "business Phone".
Recommendations provide complete answers and practical advice:
- for working with anxious patients;
- telephone counselling of vulnerable groups (the elderly, people with chronic illnesses);
- communication with people who ignore danger;
- basic principles of operation and main telephone counselling skills;
prevention and avoidance of crisis during online communication.
the Recommendations, developed by the project USAID Ukraine USAID Ukraine “Support for health reform’I”, will be useful to family doctors, whose work was complicated by the absence of visual contact with patients and who during the pandemic are much more difficult to carefully collect complaints from patients during telephone counselling.
«Information materials about the project USAID Ukraine USAID Ukraine «Support of health care reform’I” learn to calm the patient, give advice on how to talk and manage, and terminate, leaving the patient confident and calm. The ability to listen and work with long-winded and anxious patients – these are the main skills that I have acquired these materials and have already begun to apply in daily practice. Undoubtedly, I will recommend to colleagues the materials” - said Maria Collar, Director of PNC KMR “Kolomiya city centre, PHC”.
