Free Legal Aid

The National Health Service of Ukraine, in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Free Legal Aid” is required to provide free legal assistance within the scope of its competence.

The NHSU provides the following types of legal services:

  1. Providing legal information, for example, regarding legislation in the field of health care system financing;
  2. Drafting statements, complaints, and other legal documents (excluding procedural documents);
  3. Offering consultations and explanations on legal issues, such as the list of free services under the Medical Guarantees Program;
  4. Assisting in ensuring a person’s access to secondary legal aid and mediation.

We also inform you that the state guarantees everyone the right to receive free legal aid. To obtain such assistance:

  • Call the Unified Contact Center at 0800 213 103 (available 24/7 and free of charge within Ukraine from landline and mobile phones);
  • Visit the nearest center for providing free secondary legal aid or a legal aid bureau in person.
